I am not sure the book has picked up the cryptographic irony that you talk about, but it is way more accessible than my academically challenging first book in Italian, and it will certainly stir some debate about a larger "decoding" question, related to Botticelli's frescoes in the Sistine Chapel and his widely celebrated (but not entirely understood) Spring, or Primavera.
